Cypher's Raincloud Follows Him Around
The Matrix has been debated ad nauseum. To few can look at the marginalized and defeated Cypher and see a conclusion as logical as Neo's search for the truth. A man who after 9 years in the lower ranks of the Nebakanezer saw the true cost. The comfort and security that the illusion of the matrix afforded him and those still in the vat baths plugged into it.

The Haunted Stone Face

Silent comedy's great stone face and his trademark placid mask is not just a trademark, it is a symbol of his life as a true artist of silent film. It is also a key part of his greatest silent movies' comedy. A spin on if one laughs, and the world laughs with you; Weep, and you weep alone. Buster Keaton.

    This video feels like it was written by AI. It is meandering, struggles to converge on an actual point and when it does, it is very repetitive, obvious and relies too much on clips from the movie to seem deep. I don't get what I just watched. The comic book section seems out of place for the subject of the video and the comparisons to a comic book felt over-wrought, I do not get why that was in the video, it did not add to the theme. There are buzzphrases like "The immersive testing of the connection between the viewer and the movie..." that genuinely do not seem to mean much. I was waiting for a point and it never came. Aspects of the movie are described but it never reaches some realization or thesis statement, the descriptions are not actually used for anything, nothing more was described than what a viewer would understand from just watching the film.

    #1 The Demon Theory only works if you ignore about a third of the movie. #2 Shyamalan is not that subtle. If that was his intent, the devil himself would have shown up in the last confrontation

    My brain hurts when people say if they can travel through space why can’t they open doors and take on a planet full of water? For one they didn’t come for the water planet they came to harvest the humans and as for the doors why don’t you try opening a fully barricaded door

    The aliens don't even really have "trouble with doors". People took what Gibson's character said literally and forgot the specifics of what happened prior: the alien was LOCKED in the pantry and there was furniture in the way. M. Night's character said "locked him in". Furthermore, the alien managed to get out presumably on its own some time after hence why it was in their house at the end.

    Tarantino is one of the biggest hack filmmakers in the last 50 years. People praise him, but I never cared for his supposed best and most overrated film (pulp fiction), and have never remotely liked any of his others. I realized anything I kind of liked in them is a blatant ripoff of another. I'm not saying he's incompetent, because he clearly knows the formula to make money. I know he's on record saying he steals, but his films in particular are among the laziest and least creative of any major director that borrows/steals as Lynch says. Im glad more people are finally starting to realize this. Jackie Brown is among the worst of his films because he tried to be semi-original and realized he needs to steal ideas to make money. Not to mention the film is awful. It's clear that star power casting can always fool millions of people. He's garbage.

    The major problem with the demon theory is; why did the demons arrive in ships? Wouldn't they just materialize from hell or wherever? This is further reinforced by the fact that some got left behind when they fled. They were also picked up on radios. Why would demons use radio waves to communicate?

    • @masterdisciple6542
      @masterdisciple6542 2 місяці тому

      Do we ever actually see any alien ships or is it just assumed because of lights in the sky? Haven't watched the movie in awhile but I don't think they ever show the aliens using any tech at all. As for radio waves... what do paranormal investigators use when trying to pick up this type of stuff? There are countless examples of supposedly demonic voices being picked up that way. Whether it's real or not is beside the point. There is a long history of using radio waves and white noises to detect the presence or communicate with supernatural entities.

      @@masterdisciple6542 We see the lights arrive and then a bird falls out of the sky, dead after running into a cloaked object in broad daylight. These things came from outside the atmosphere and then hovered, cloaked over the cities. We never actually see the ships but what did the bird run into if not a transportation craft?

    When I saw this movie back in the day (1986) I never considered it a 'horror' I thought it was something else entirely, although I still can't say for certain what that it. It's an underrated classic andcertainly one of the iconic 80s movies that has never been replicated since, a true masterpiece of suspense, mystery and stunned amazement for 38 years......

    When you are menace, intimidation, and indifference personified, you don't explain yourself. The script gets this. John Ryder doesn't explain himself to Jim. Certainly not to anyone else. And the audience is not given such courtesies either.

    His overacting wouldn't work, what would work is his serious work from movies like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. It needs his best of the downer world, not the happiest. Still his style is comedy fantasy right? So put him as a Justice League's Batman's as the Joker. Give the universe the tone it needs without leaving the crazy boundaries it needs.

    FUN FACT: originally his name was actually Steven Seagull - 100% true! He changed his name by deed poll to Seagal because that was a name he'd seen recently in a museum and it was a close name to his so he justified it as more of an 'adjustment' than a name change. The man's an absolute joke and a fraud just like his hair, he was half bald ages 30 but full head of hair 20 years later and he still denies that he wears a wig - another true story! 🤷🏼‍♂️Facts!🤷🏼‍♂️
